Real Daughters


REAL DAUGHTERS cemetery gatemarker

Real Daughters were members of DAR who were also the daughters of Revolutionary War patriots. Women who were not members of DAR, but whose fathers were Revolutionary War patriots are designated as "real daughters." 

Jane (Woodbridge) Smith was a member of Stars and Stripes Chapter, NSDAR.  Her father was Revolutionary War patriot, Andrew Englis, from Massachusetts.  Jane was born December 23, 1815, in Tioga County, New York, and died at Tecumseh, Johnson County, Nebraska. She is buried in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Block 87, Lot 2, Tecumseh, Nebraska under the name Jane E. Smith and her grave was marked by Stars and Stripes Chapter, NSDAR, in 1926. The marker is in good condition.
