Patriotic Endeavor Promotion of Education Historic Preservation

Promotion of Education

American History Essay Contest
Open to students in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades from elementary and junior high schools in Davenport and Bettendorf.


Christopher Columbus Essay Contest
Open to students in grades 9-12 in Davenport and Bettendorf.


Hannah Caldwell Scholarship
This is a $500.00 scholarship given yearly to a graduating senior from a Scott County high school who will be attending an accredited Iowa post-secondary institution.

DAR Good Citizens Award
Promotes dependability, service, leadership and patriotism among high school seniors from Assumption, Bettendorf, Davenport North, Central and West, North Scott, Pleasant Valley and Rivermont schools.

Historic Preservation

Volunteer genealogists provide assistance for prospective members and volunteer at local libraries

Hannah Caldwell Chapter donates DAR Patriot Indexes to Davenport Library and books pertinent to DAR and genealogical records
