The DeShon Chapter meets
the third Saturday of the month, September through June.
There is no July or August meeting. Meetings
include: ritualistic openings, devotions, patriotic recitations,
as well as the reading of the President General’s Message and the National
Defense Report. Reports are presented by the Chapter Chairmen
of the Committees. Guest speakers as well as members provide
interesting programs relating to a wide variety of subjects.
Subjects include community projects, lineage and genealogical
research, history, and current issues of concern. The meeting
is followed by refreshments and fellowship.
The DeShon Chapter is an active chapter. The
Chapter promotes historic preservation, education and
patriotism. Awards are given throughout the
year for Good Citizens, American History Essays, ROTC,
Conservation and Community Service.
Prospective
members are welcome and assistance is available in filling out DAR
Application papers.
