Meetings

Chapter meetings are held the third Saturday of the month except for July and August.

Meetings include: the ritualistic openings, devotions, patriotic recitations, as well as the reading of the President General’s Message and the National Defense Report.  Reports are presented by the Chapter Chairmen of the Committees.  Guest speakers as well as members provide interesting programs relating to a wide variety of subjects.  This year's subjects include the following:

  • Visit from our State Regent, Susan Kennedy Harris
  • Women and Heart Disease
  • Museum of Religous Arts
  • Patriotic Recognition Program (Awards to be presented: DAR Good Citizens, American History Essays, Christopher Columbus Essays, American History Teacher, and Community Service)
  • Speaker on the U.S. Federal Census
  • Women in History
  • Program on artist, P. Buckley Moss

The Council Bluffs Chapter is an active chapter and in February, the Good Citizens, American History Essays, Christopher Columbus Essays, American History Teacher and Community Service awards are presented at a recognition Tea.  The chapter also Supports Historic Preservation, Promotes Education, and Fosters Patriotism.

If you are interested in attending a meeting, please contact Dione Norris.
