The Mason
City Chapter meetings are held the second Wednesday of each
month April through December. January
through March is our winter recess. The location
changes with each month. Contact
Celene
Eliason for meeting
locations.
Each
meeting includes the ritualistic openings, devotions,
patriotic recitations, as well as the reading of the
President General’s Message, the National Defense Report, a
Flag Minute, an Indian Minute and the State Regent's letter.
Reports are presented by the Chapter Chairmen of the
Committees. Guest speakers and members provide
interesting programs relating to a wide variety of
subjects. Subjects include community projects, lineage and
genealogical research, history, and current issues of
concern. The meeting is followed by refreshments and
fellowship.
The Mason
City Chapter is an active chapter. The Chapter promotes
historic preservation, education and patriotism. Awards are
given each year for Good Citizens.
Prospective
members are welcome and assistance is available in filling out
DAR application
papers.
