Patriot Soldiers Buried in Iowa

Lawrence Van Hook

 

  

Lawrence Van Hook was born in 1755 in New Jersey.  He died in 1854 in Jackson County, Iowa.  Van Hook was buried in the Andrew Cemetery, Perry Township, Jackson County, Iowa.  The Addie Merrill Lee chapter DAR of DeWitt placed a memorial marker on the grave October 19, 1960.  Lawrence Van Hook served in the Cumberland County, NJ militia as an officer.
