William
Sinkey was born about 1763 in Pennsylvania. He
died September 1849 in Jones County, Iowa, and was
buried in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Jackson County,
near the town of Emeline. He participated in
the Cumberland County, Pennsylvania militia.
