Achilles Rogers was born 1761/1762 in
Albemarle County, Virginia. He died
July 1854 during a cholera epidemic.
He is buried in Pennington Cemetery, three
miles south of Sigourney in West Lancaster
Township of Keokuk County, Iowa. The
James McElwee Chapter DAR of Sigourney
placed a boulder with an official bronze
tablet at his gravesite on April 12, 1925.
