As you know, there are three main components to our committee -- participation in patriotic events, the Medal awards program, and support of the naturalization process.

1. Patriotic Events may be parades, Project Patriot events, Veteran Events, National Defense Events, or other. It is ok for chapters to count events two or three times on appropriate Chapter Master Report pages.
2. State chairs are responsible for reviewing medal recommendations packets before they are sent to the national chair. Please make sure all required material is included in the packets, and allow six weeks for review and another two weeks to receive any approved medals and certificates.

The 2017 &18 committee flyers are attached for your use, as well as a U.S. Citizenship Practice Test and answer sheet for use at chapter meetings or Americanism programs. A great, quick program involves asking chapter members to try to take the shortened test, then discuss the answers and give out prizes (tootsie rolls seem to work) for those with the best scores. It is a great way to spur discussion!
