to the Iowa Daughters! What an honor you all have bestowed upon me to serve as your State Regent 2022-2024. Thank you for your vote of confidence. Hopefully we will be able to enjoy our glide into the future serving and participating in Historic Preservation, Education and Patriotism for the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution on the state level. The Brunia Administration is ready to take flight with a butterfly as our symbol to glide into the future. We will proudly incorporate the national theme of Stars & Stripes Forever and Rejoice in Our DAR Ties of Service and Friendship and the six goals for the National Wright Administration which you will hear much more about in the coming weeks. My color theme will be purple and aqua to represent the fact to never forget our veterans. The theme will be “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” The Scripture will be, “Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His Presence with singing” Psalms 100:2 something my mother wrote out in old English calligraphy nearly seventy years ago never to know her daughter would one day use as her scripture for DAR. I am especially grateful for the many willing Iowa daughters who have stepped up to serve in my administration and carry our organization forward. It indeed takes quite a team to accomplish all the ambitious goals we set for our state and the national society goals we are asked to pursue. Our national society has a number of new committees but most are an extension of an existing committee to help us all better understand and participate in them. The national library will have more outreach, the book club will continue by popular demand, Genealogy will have a new commission, DAR will have a Podcast and probably the most timely and useful new committee will be NSDAR Technology Planning Commission and Support. This technology information will be directed to the chapters to help them understand and use it more to their advantage. Exciting times are ahead. Come glide together in the Brunia Administration! In fact, there are two Facebook groups: Iowa Society Daughters of the American Revolution is for DAR members in Iowa. This site is "closed" and you will not be able to join the group unless your DAR membership is in Iowa. Exchange information and friendship with ISDAR members. The second group is a public site: Iowa DAR. Use this site to contact the public about information, genealogy workshops, chapter activities, etc. |

Organizing Secretary General's Office and reported you
as an officer, email MemberServices@dar.org
providing the Organizing Secretary General's Office
with your name, chapter name, chapter, office,
national number, requesting your password. You
will receive your password soon.
If your correct email is in the system, you can also request it to be sent automatically. This system works 24/7 but your email address has to be in the system correctly and you must be listed as one of the officers that is entitled to access. DAR Members If you are a member of our ISDAR
Yahoo group, you know that the yahoo group is being
discontinued.
The intention of this group is to keep ALL Iowa DAR members up to date with DAR happenings in the state of Iowa. A new group, IowaSocietyDAR, is being organized as a Google Group. You may request membership at your convenience. Note that this group is open to ISDAR members only, so you will need to answer some questions to confirm your membership in the ISDAR before your membership will be approved. |
