Patriot Soldiers Buried in Iowa

Cato Mead

                   

Cato Mead was born 1762 in Connecticut and died April 25, 1846 near Montrose, Iowa Territory.  The exact location of his grave is unknown.  His marker is in the Montrose Cemetery.  Cato Mead was an African American who served in a Connecticut regiment.
