The
Lawrence Van Hook Chapter meets on the second Saturday of the month
from September through June.
Meetings
include: the ritualistic openings, devotions, patriotic recitations,
as well as the reading of the President General’s Message and the National
Defense Report. Reports are presented by the Chapter Chairmen
of the Committees. Guest speakers as well as members provide
interesting programs relating to a wide variety of subjects.
Subjects include community projects, lineage and genealogical
research, history, and current issues of concern. The meeting
is followed by refreshments and fellowship.
Lawrence
Van Hook Chapter is an active chapter and in January, Good Citizens,
Scholarship, and American History Awards are presented at an Awards
Tea with refreshments provided by the members. The Chapter
also supports Historic Preservation, Promotes Education, and Fosters
Patriotism.
Our
State Regent asks us to “Sow Seeds for our Future, Seeds of
Preservation, Seeds of Education and Seeds of Patriotism.”
Prospective
members are welcome and assistance is available in filling out DAR
Application Papers.
