The Lawrence Van Hook Chapter meets
the second Saturday of the month from September through June.
Meetings include: ritualistic
openings, devotions, and patriotic recitations, as well as the reading
of the President General's message and the National Defense Report.
Reports are presented by the Chapter Chairmen of the Committees.
Guest speakers as well as members provide interesting programs
relating to a wide variety of subjects. Subjects include community
projects, lineage and genealogical research, history, and current
issues of concern. The meetings are followed by refreshments and
fellowship.
Through various projects, the
Lawrence Van Hook Chapter actively supports the DAR mission of
Historic Preservation, Promoting Education, and Fostering
Patriotism. In January, the Good Citizens, Scholarship, and American
History awards are presented at an Awards Tea with refreshments
provided by the members.
Prospective members are welcome and
assistance is available in filling out DAR application papers.
