monument in the Forrest Home Cemetery,
Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Charles E.
Sheppard was a patriot of the
Revolutionary War; he is buried on his
homestead, north of Rome in Henry
The monument was erected as a joint
project of the State of Iowa which
included: McFarland Post GAR (Grand Army
of the Republic) and the Daughters of
the American Revolution.
