The Hannah Lee Chapter, NSDAR, holds meetings
every month April through December, excluding
July. We also participate in various
activities and service projects throughout the
year. Meetings are held in West Union and the
Decorah area.
Our objective is “To perpetuate the memory and
spirit of the men and women who achieved
American Independence; to promote the
development of an enlightened public opinion and
to foster patriotic citizenship.”
Some of our activities that we participate in
are:
- Participating in parades
- Conducting local cemetery preservation and
cleanup
- Provide area schools with packets during
Constitution Week
- Sponsor the Good Citizen Award and
American History Essay Contest in
surrounding schools
- Participate in community service project
for DAR National Day of Service
- Make and provide holiday stockings for
troops overseas and veterans in area nursing
homes
- Other activities and projects that come
our way to support the DAR mission of
Historic Preservation, Education, and
Patriotism!
